My real name is Ulrik Schou, and I was born on a cold december morning 1980 in a town called Herning, Denmark. My childhood interests were table-tennis, which I toped with a 2. place in Jutland Cup in 1994. Another big interest is computers. At the age of 5 I got a TV-consol (The one with 2 bars and a dot flying around). A few years later I got a Commadore 64 and later an Amiga 600. At the age of 15 I started working of a deapt of a PC as a paperboy.
That first PC had 66Mhz with 4MB of RAM, and that was the latest in computers at that point. I started to go to LAN-parties, and thats where I first listend to EDM. The first few years I listend to Dance and Euro-Trance, and it was also here I started to be fasinated by DJ mixes. As I had no money for hardware to start DJing, and the fact that EDM isn't well known in Denmark, I started to search for alternatives.
DJ Mix Pro was the first software I tried out, but it could only do very basic mixing, and the mixes were - at best - aweful. So I looked for other alternatives. Most of the software at that point were deck-based mixing software, which I had no skills and knowlegde about. But then I found MixMeister 5. And suddenly I could mix more freely and with good extra features, like cutting, bass and treble control.
With new versions came more control, like key and pitch control.
Around year 2000 I became interested in melodic trance, which is more layed back than pumping Euro Trance. I began listening to Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance radio show, and started to get knowlegde about the newest in melodic and progressive trance.
Today I am looking to perfect my mixes, and learning to do live mixes and start regular radio shows. Trance on Demand is my first step in that direction.
